Exporting

STL, 3MF, and SVG export options.

Bin export

From the bin editor, click *Export* to download your bin. Available formats:

  • STL — standard mesh format, works with every slicer (PrusaSlicer, Cura, OrcaSlicer, etc.).
  • 3MF — compressed format with better metadata support. Most modern slicers handle it well.

If the bin is too large for your print bed, the STL is offered as a ZIP of split parts plus the full merged file. 3MF is always a standalone download.

Tool export

From the tool editor, download the outline as an SVG file. Useful for laser cutting, CNC routing, or importing into CAD software.

Tracefinity bins are standard Gridfinity geometry, so the usual print settings apply:

  • Layer height — 0.2mm is a good default. The stacking lip benefits from 0.16mm for smoother fit.
  • Infill — 10–15% is usually enough. The bin walls are thin and don't need much internal structure.
  • Supports — not needed. Bins are designed to print without supports.
  • Material — PLA works well. PETG if you want more durability.
  • Orientation — print with the base down (the default orientation in the exported file).
