Tool editor
Edit outlines, add cutouts, and transform tools.
Editing modes
The toolbar along the top controls what happens when you click the canvas:
- Select — drag vertices and cutouts to reposition them.
- Add point — click on an edge to insert a new vertex. Useful for adding detail to a rough outline.
- Remove — click a vertex to delete it. Disabled if the shape has only 3 vertices.
- Cutout — add a hole inside the tool. Options: finger hole (15mm radius), circle (10mm), square (20mm), rectangle (30×20mm). Click on the canvas to place it.
- Fill in — appears when your tool has interior rings (holes). Click a ring to fill it solid.
Smooth vs Accurate
Toggle between two outline modes:
- Accurate — the raw traced polygon with all its vertices. You can add/remove points in this mode.
- Smooth — a simplified, cleaner outline. A slider (0–1) controls how aggressively the shape is smoothed. Vertex editing is disabled in smooth mode.
Transforming tools
- Rotate 90° clockwise or anticlockwise
- Flip horizontally or vertically
- Free-rotate by dragging the centroid handle
Snapping
Toggle the *Snap* button to snap vertices to a 5mm grid. Grid lines are drawn at 10mm intervals for reference.
Undo/Redo
Ctrl+Z to undo, Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo. Up to 50 steps of history.
Zoom and pan
Scroll to zoom (0.5×–20×). Pan by middle-click-drag or hold Space and drag.
SVG export
Download the tool outline as an SVG file from the tool page header.
